Even though Michael Landon, the adored actor best remembered for his parts in TV shows like Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven, passed away more than 30 years ago, his influence can still be seen today. Despite efforts by the ship’s pilot to avert disaster, the vessel struck the bridge. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) initiated an investigation into the incident, with initial damage estimates exceeding $500,000.
