His early interest for drumming was fostered during church visits where he would watch the drummer, saying, “Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved music.” He went on to teach himself how to play the piano, guitar, and trumpet while taking drum classes.
The boy’s mother continued to be his greatest supporter despite their financial difficulties, posting videos of him performing soul covers on YouTube. Despite her inability to purchase drum kits, she got him drumsticks so he could drum on the ground.
When he was twelve years old, he entered a local talent competition and placed second with a performance of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” His mother posted footage of him performing on YouTube so that others could see how committed she was to promoting his potential.

Richard David Hendrickson, president and CEO of Lifetime Products, and his 16-year-old daughter Sally were killed in a tragic accident in Ogden Canyon on Saturday.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, they were killed instantaneously when a truck’s excavator broke loose and fell over their pickup truck.
The tow truck was navigating a tight right-hand curve while pulling a small bulldozer when the tragedy occurred. After breaking loose, the bulldozer crashed into Hendrickson’s GMC pickup. Two other adult passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and Hendrickson and Sally were both pronounced dead at the site. Hendrickson was honored by Lifetime Products, which described him as more than just a business leader.
They emphasized his wide range of skills, renowned mechanical prowess, and remarkable interpersonal skills.
